AVA'S POST BDAY CELEB @ RIBS N RUMPS

March 31, 2011

Ava decided to have her post bday celeb at Dubai Mall today since her bday(Mar 28, 2011) falls on a weekday. Boy, the mall is really big it was really hard to navigate yourself around even if you use their touch screen map. Sosyal noh as in =), wla to sa iligan. eheh… After a couple of minutes trying to figure out where we should go, we decided to go their food court and check out what resto’s they have there. And then we saw “Ribs and Rumps”, gotta love the place with all its steaks, grills and its eye-catching designs and timber slats. Ribs and Rumps is an international steakhouse group from Australia renowned for serving finest steaks and ribs and of course famous for its mammoth sizes. For starters, we ordered Garden Salad and for our main course “Farmhouse Grill”, “Texas Steak” and “Chicken Wrap” and “Lemon & Mint Tea” for our drinks. We really did enjoyed our food and what was really funny was that when our food was served everyone was looking at our food because there where just 3 of us (Ava, me and my sis) but our food was good for 6-8 persons. Ahahaha, it’s a good thing we don’t go often there so no one knows us because it was kinda embarrassing. So the whole time we were eating, we were just laughing because every person that passes by our table would stare at our food and look at us. But I would definitely go back there because it’s really the place to satisfy your meat cravings and guaranteed to satisfy your biggest hunger. Plus it’s not that expensive compared to other steakhouse.

Dubai

Dubai...hmmm......what a barren place...well mostly what you see are hotels and tall buildings, but aside from that all you can see is sand. I miss soil all of a sudden.ahaha...And it's definitely hot here. Seriously! I mean it's like your in an oven. Like free sauna everyday specially now that its summer. Oh my, oh my, what will happen to my poor skin.ajeje. One would definitely prefer staying at home because of the heat and stay all day long in front of the computer. No wonder people here are getting bigger day after day, plus you have to consider the food here. Fast food, frozen ready to eat foods, so very fattening and unhealthy.ahaha...
But despite all that, you will learn to love the place. With all its tourist attractions. Malls, beaches, parks, hotels, amusement parks. And you gotta love the cars here. Damn. Lamborghini, Jaguar, Audi, Porsche. You name it. They have it here.
So basically that's Dubai. ohh...I forgot to mention, plus its polluted air because uhmm...people here doesn't know the word "personal hygiene". They don't know the importance of taking a bath everyday and changing clothes everyday. ahaha...
That's life . You just gotta learn how to enjoy life despite of all the circumstances. =)

OUR OWN YEAR END PARTY (DEC. 27, 2008)

We were supposed to go an acoustic bar opening of a friend of Cholo, but for some reason it was cancelled. Crap, I was so ready to party tonight since we will be working this New Year's Eve. It’s the only time I can go out before the year ends. It’s a good thing though my friends still decided to go out and party some place else. What a relief, I thought I won’t be able to go out tonight. First, we went to outpost to eat dinner, which if I may say the food sucks. It’s not that expensive though but definitely not delectable. But I like the place, it’s a big old house converted into a resto bar. I like the thought that it’s old and their decors were also antique, plus the black and white pictures was really something. But after eating dinner, we got bored and decided to transfer to brews café. Now the café is really a nice place to chill. If you’re looking for an nice acoustic bar with nice music, Brews café is the place to be. And around 12mn, we decided to change venue and ambiance. My friends were ready for some wild party. That’s why we decided to go to Autoshop to party. The music there is nice, you can really dance to the beat but the thing I hate about the place is the smoke and the fact that it’ s really crowded. After some time, you could really feel the heat, the sweat and the sometimes I would find it hard to breathe. At last, around 3am we decided to go home. Well, that was one memorable night. At least I was able to go out and enjoy before 2008 ends.

MERRY CHRISTMAS(DEC. 25, 2008)

That sure was one hell of a Christmas Eve. I slept the whole night and was not even able to wake at 12mn even with all the fireworks and noise outside and not even when my phone was ringing. Guess I was really tired and not really feeling the essence of Christmas. I mean, who would feel the holidays if you are all alone. I did pretty much nothing last night because after eating dinner, I watched a movie and basically after that I went to sleep and woke up around 3am. Could you believe that? Such a loser… And it was raining really hard, which old folks would say that’s God’s way of showering blessings. Well, I do hope I get a lot of blessing in the near future.
And what a quiet Christmas morning. No people passing by, only a few cars on the road and the stores are close. **sigh** Could it get any worse from this. This sucks, big time. Now this is not the way I imagined to spend my Christmas. I would have thought that every Christmas that either I’m with my family or friends, eating a lot of food and giving gifts, staying really late and also waking up late. But right now, I’m definitely having a Christmas by myself staring at the empty streets. But a good thing though, my family called to greet and ask how was my Christmas Eve and told them I slept. Well at least they remembered to call and wished me a Merry Christmas. Now, although I’m spending my Christmas alone, at least I know that my family still thinks of me all the time, and with that, I know I’m not really alone this Christmas.

The Holidays

Another slow day for me, just spending my time here in Bo's Coffee Club...Got so bored at the house that I just needed to go somewhere less boring and depressing. I can’t believe I’m still going be stuck here in Cebu this holiday season. I’m definitely a loser spending the holidays at my room without any family and friends. **sigh** oh well, can’t do anything about it. I’m thinking of just sleeping all night long and will just think it’s just an ordinary day (yah right...)
Well since I’m going to be stuck here this holiday, I might just as well have to make the best of it. Eheh… I guess that’s life; there are just things that you can’t have your way. I guess I’ll have think of things I could do on that day.

TEAM HUGAWANS LAST GA (DEC. 6&7, 2008)http://fallenangelle.blogspot.com/

We decided to have our last team GA since almost half of us will be transferred to SMB Voice starting weekending Dec.12, 2008. Our original plan was to go APO Island if the company would allow us to have a team ATO, but unfortunately was not granted. So we just decided to have our outing at Vista Mar, which turned out to be a total disaster. A resort I would definitely not go back to and would not recommend to my friends. They don’t advertise their business properly. I mean we went to their website and got their number to make some reservations. And it turned out when we went to the place that we called the wrong number. It was in Vista Mar Batangas. Their manager told us that there a lot of Vista Mar Resort in the Philippines and even in Panama. Their were so casual about and just said that they have experienced couple of customers made the same mistakes as we did. We informed them that the website that we visited is Vista Mar Mactan, but they just addressed it as if it’s a normal thing and that they could do nothing about it. And their service also sucks, imagine they could not do long distance calls and don’t have internet access. And we ended up paying 900php corkage fee for the food that we brought to the place. Then after that unpleasant experience, we just decided to go to Portofino, to spend the rest of our GA. Though the place was not that nice and exciting, but at least we got our moneys worth. We really did enjoy our time their, savoring every moment since we don’t really know when we would be able to have get together party again. We had our jammin’ session, our habhaban portion and of course the most important thing, our inuman session. We also enjoyed swimming at the beach, playing games even though it was so cold in the evening and raining in the morning. And knowing Team Hugawan, it would not be an outing without the pix. We took a lot of pictures so we could have something to remember of our stay there and would hope that it would happen again in the near future.
